Protecting endangered rainforests together with Indigenous communities

The Cool Earth x Easy Jose Indigenous Community Coffee is a celebration of Indigenous culture and wisdom. With 20% of every bag sold going directly to the Cool Earth organisation, these funds will go straight to the hands of Indigenous communities to further support them on the front line in the Amazon rainforest.

The coffee the Mayni Community harvests grows beneath the forest canopy, each bean carefully handpicked and subjected to a fully washed process, enhancing the natural flavours while minimising the impact on the environment. This method guarantees a vibrant cup of coffee that reflects the essence of the region, rich with notes of chocolate, honey, almond, and a hint of orange acidity.

We pay the Mayni directly, and above the Fairtrade standard, investing into their village infrastructure and protecting their way of life. This partnership will enable us to increase our impact by reaching more remarkable forest guardians through Cool Earth’s vital work on the ground.

Cool Earth supports Indigenous individuals living within rainforests by giving them unconditional cash transfers to fund projects that create choice, tackle the root causes of deforestation, and protect carbon sinks. Read more on where the donations will go, here.

In the rolling foothills of the Amazon rainforest, about six hours drive from the nearest town of Satipo in Eastern Peru, live a beautiful, isolated community who grow incredible coffee beneath the forest canopy. Amidst a vibrant tapestry of foliage and wildlife, The Mayni harness their natural landscape while protecting the ecosystem that surrounds them, ensuring the delicate balance between fauna and flora remains undisturbed.
